Santa Barbara & Los Angeles

Jen and I took a trip down to Southern California over the past three day weekend. My family is originally from Southern California so whenever we go down we typically stay with family and rarely make time to do the "tourist" thing. We enjoyed a relaxing time walking around, shopping, and enjoying the restaurants in Santa Barbara on Saturday (our favorite was Aldo's Italian).
Sunday we did a walking tour of downtown LA which had us walk by the library, the Disney Concert Hall, Olivera Street, and ended at Central Station.

Monday we stopped in Solvang on our way home. Before I left for the weekend, my boss suggested we stop at the Cold Spring Tavern between Santa Barbara and Solvang. It a little cabin in the middle of nowhere, but they had the best food! I definitely recommend it to anyone traveling in, and around, Santa Barbara/Solvang.
Upon reaching Solvang I started to pull-out my trusty D70 but since Jen had been playing around with a film camera (gasp!) throughout the weekend I decided to carry my father's film camera instead of the digital. Needless to say I don't have any of those shots to post yet. It was kinda funny because as we walked into the Dangerish Coffee Company (awesome coffee, by the way), the young lady that runs the place saw the Minolta X-700 hanging from my neck and commented on how refreshing it was to see an actual film camera for a change.
Anyway, we had a great time. Follow this link for more pictures from Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.
