Santa Barbara & Los Angeles

Jen and I took a trip down to Southern California over the past three day weekend. My family is originally from Southern California so whenever we go down we typically stay with family and rarely make time to do the "tourist" thing. We enjoyed a relaxing time walking around, shopping, and enjoying the restaurants in Santa Barbara on Saturday (our favorite was Aldo's Italian).

Sunday we did a walking tour of downtown LA which had us walk by the library, the Disney Concert Hall, Olivera Street, and ended at Central Station.

Monday we stopped in Solvang on our way home. Before I left for the weekend, my boss suggested we stop at the Cold Spring Tavern between Santa Barbara and Solvang. It a little cabin in the middle of nowhere, but they had the best food! I definitely recommend it to anyone traveling in, and around, Santa Barbara/Solvang.

Upon reaching Solvang I started to pull-out my trusty D70 but since Jen had been playing around with a film camera (gasp!) throughout the weekend I decided to carry my father's film camera instead of the digital. Needless to say I don't have any of those shots to post yet. It was kinda funny because as we walked into the Dangerish Coffee Company (awesome coffee, by the way), the young lady that runs the place saw the Minolta X-700 hanging from my neck and commented on how refreshing it was to see an actual film camera for a change.

Anyway, we had a great time. Follow this link for more pictures from Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.

BP Blog - Now Streaming!

I'm happy to report that if you use a RSS reader you can now receive updates to my blog!

If you don't know what a RSS reader is... it's a handy little thing that allows you to receive updates from many sites including news sources such as CNN, Digital Photography Review (my favorite), and blogs (such as this one) without actually having to visit the site... saving lots of time.

Follow this link for more information on RSS readers and/or how to add this blog.

Of course, you can always continue to view my blog by simply visiting this page.

Photography Seminar

So, in our attempt to get Jen more involved in the business, she and I attended a seminar in the city last week. Our good friend and wedding photographer, Jennifer, who has been giving me lots of tips, advice, and help with my wedding photography business suggested the seminar and it turned-out to be a great learning experience! I purchased some new software packages and I'm really excited to begin using them to create very nice looking magazine-style albums and online albums.

Anyway... here's a picture of Jennifer, Me, and Jenifer at the seminar.
